See the post on my baby blog here.
We are not moving homes. Since Matt's raise we can definitely afford something bigger, but our plan is to stay here and save money until we can buy a nice house of our own.
The problem is, we are going to need the boys to share a room. I know right?? 3 boys in one bedroom... The reason that was a problem is, Thomas and Connor's bedroom right now is the bigger of the two kid's rooms. However, the way the door opens into the room and the position of the closet will make it impossible to be able to put 2 twin sized beds in there. (We are going to do two bunk beds).
But...
Riley's room right now is much smaller, however how the closet and door are positioned, we could put 2 bunk beds in there no problem. I know it sounds terrible, but we are putting the 3 boys in the small bedroom, and we're going to do the beds like this:
Seriously, I'm in love..
You will notice that there is an extra bed in this setup. We are planning on turning one of the bottom bunks just into a mini reading loft. It will have a curtain, a shagged run stapled to a platform on the bottom, pillows, and a wall light. The kids can either read in that space or they can make it their fort and have their "top secret spy club" meetings in there, whatever they want to do!
Each boy will have their own space and when we hang the curtains, they will have privacy too! We're doing their room a jungle so we're going to make their bed a "tree house" with a couple of these in the corner on a post at the top placed at different angles:
..and we're also going to put a climbing rope on the ladders attached at both the top and bottom so it's not dangerous, but they can use the ladder for their feet and pull themselves up the rope with their arms. It's going to be adorable! :) :) :)
As for toys and play area, it wouldn't be fair to do this to them without giving them more space to play so..
We are then going to get the curtains that hang from the ceiling to the floor and run on a track and install them in the storage room in front of all the shelves to keep the kids from climbing and pulling things off of them, and turn the storage room into the toy room. It will also be alot nicer because they storage room has it's own exit to the backyard as well, so during play time, the kids won't need to be in the house waking up Kaylee and it will cut down on all the toys that get strung everywhere as well!!
We'll have to post pictures of the finished product. We're super excited though!
So the kids will have the smaller jungle room and the play room in the storage room, and Kaylee gets the big room. Which is good anyways, because we need to fit more furniture in there. (Changing table, rocking chair, crib, chest of drawers...)
Next week, the plan is to replace windows to help with insulation and make their rooms nice and safer for them for the winter time. :) Let the HUGE changes begin!!
I love stuff like this!!!

Oh my gosh. I cant believe you picked the exact themed nursery as me. I have been eyeing that owl tree for quite some time. I actually had Mike's mom buy a owl quilt applique pattern over a year ago. Yay for owls! If you find a good deal on the tree or know someone who can copy it please let me know.
